Steve Mann, owner of Home Energy Services, is headquartered in San Luis Obispo. He has been involved in the construction business for more than 20 years and possesses a strong knowledge of sustainable building practices. His specialty as a builder is extremely energy-efficient residential gut renovations and small additions, with completed projects from San Francisco to San Luis Obispo. His focus is now aimed at assisting architects, contractors, developers, real estate professionals, and homeowners with sustainable design and construction practices and improving the energy efficiency of existing homes.

Steve is a LEED AP+ Homes Accredited Professional, Build It Green-certified Green Building Professional, CABEC-certified Certified Energy Analyst, USGBC-certified LEED for Homes Representative and Rater, a Build It Green-certified Green Point Rater, a CHEERS-certified HERS Rater, a BPI-certified Building Analyst, and a RESNET-certified Green Rater.

He is a graduate of the Sonoma State Green Building Program, attended John Hopkins University, earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, and his MBA in Accounting from Golden Gate University.

Steve has participated in multiple subject matter expert groups for GBCI, the LEED credentialing authority. He is also a Home Energy magazine contributing editor, former Treasurer and Board member of Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo County, and a Board member of the California Association of Building Energy Consultants.
